Sports Festival

On Thursday 24th March, children of EYFS and KS1 were treated to a wonderful day of physical activity thanks to the Year 6 sports leaders.

The day started with an opening ceremony to get everyone excited about the day’s events. After that, each class participated in 6 FUNs stations led by the sports leaders. The stations focused on developing skills in agility, balance and coordination.

The year 6 pupils demonstrated their leadership skills by running each station independently. Through running the stations at lunchtimes, the leaders had had time to practice and fine tune the instructions so it was relevant to young children. On the day the leaders were encouraging and nurturing and made sure every single child had fun and achieved success.

The sports leaders enjoyed it so much, they are already planning another festival for the summer term.
