Butterfly

The Little Bears have been learning about butterfly life cycles this week. They designed butterflies, made pictures of the hungry caterpillar, wrote about what they would eat if they were the hungry caterpillar and made life cycle flip-books which they illustrated and labelled.

Autumn Term - Little Lions

Little Lions have been learning how different things are made, we particularly enjoyed learning how to build houses. We had a visit from a real builder who brought in some bricks and timber to show us how to a build house. We used Lego bricks to learn how to stack the bricks correctly and we built our own designs of buildings from recycled materials. The Little Lions have thoroughly enjoyed their learning this half term.

Autumn Term - Little Bears

'The Little Bears have had a fantastic week learning about Diwali – the festival of light. We learnt about the Diwali story of ‘Rama and Sita’ and about how Hindus prepare and celebrate the festival. Throughout the week we created Rangoli patterns using numicon, used our funky fingers to place pom-poms on the outline of a Rangoli pattern, created mehndi patterns, decorated biscuits with firework designs and much more. The children were enthusiastic and enjoyed learning about a different culture.'

The Little Bears had a great time at Winkworth Arboretum looking for signs of Spring and developing their gross motor skills. It was an enriching hands on experience to enhance the children's learning in school. We had so much FUN!
