Home Learning

At Loseley Fields, we use the online learning platform, Seesaw, for home learning. Seesaw is an interactive teaching and work sharing space that allows teachers to set tasks and activities for children to complete in a range of exciting and interactive ways.

To begin with, we are going to use Seesaw for the use of home learning (homework). Teachers will post work for students to complete at home and then students will be able to post their work back on the platform. In the event of pupils/families having to self-isolate or that of another school closure due to COVID-19, we will be using Seesaw for teachers to remotely teach and set work for students as well as being able to offer personalised feedback.

At the end the 2019-20 academic year, we asked parents for feedback about home learning during the Covid-19 national lockdown. After analysis, the data showed that a key theme was that of teacher feedback. As a school, we have taken this on board and one of the great benefits of Seesaw is the ability to offer feedback to students based upon the work they have completed.
Seesaw has many excellent security features which include that of only the teacher and student being able to see posted work and the feedback given. This means that work will not be able to be viewed publically.

Another great feature is that the platform is completely compatible with iOS, Android, and Windows operating systems. This means that Seesaw it is available on all digital formats including smart phones, tablets, Kindles, laptops and PCs.

All children will be issued with individual codes that allow them, with parental support as required, to access their class page on Seesaw. Here they will be able to access tasks, post work and hear feedback from their teachers.

If you have any problems with accessing the Seesaw platform, please speak to you child’s class teacher and they will assist you.
